Here are some words and phrases from different languages translated into phonetics. Use them to increase your international vocabulary.

Language Lesson #3:

Simple words in Swahili.
Swahili is spoken in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, the Congo, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Zaire and other countries in East and Central Africa.

These words are written in Swahili:
bicycle = baisikeli
trip = safari
car = motokari
dance = dansi
soup = supa
lettuce salad = letasi saladi

These words are translated phonetically into English:
bicycle = by-see-KEH-lee
doctor = dahk-TA-ree
dentist = dahk-TA-ree wa MEH-no
slow = PO-leh-PO-leh
dessert = TA-moo-TA-moo
good day = hoo-JAHM-bo
goodbye = kwa-HEH-ree

Spanish: KIE-ro be-SAR-te
French: zhe voe tan-bra-SE

"Kiss me"
German: kus mish.
