Did
you know that...
58% of Whites who took part in the 2004 US federal election voted for
George W. Bush, compared to 41% who voted for John Kerry.
In contrast, only 11% of African Americans voted for Bush, and 88% for
Kerry.
Latinos and Asians were somewhat more likely to vote for Kerry than
Bush: 53% versus 44% among Latinos and 56% versus 44% among Asians.
In addition, 2% of Latinos cast their ballot for Ralph Nader.
Among voters designated as "Other," 40% chose Bush, 54% Kerry,
and 2% Nader.
White male voters were 7% more likely than their female counterparts
to cast their ballot for Bush (62% versus 55%); 37% and 44% of White
men and women respectively voted for Kerry.
Among non-Whites as well, more men than women voted for Bush (30% versus
24%), and 1% of non-White males and females checked off Nader on their
ballots.
