| Cameron's British Foods An E-commerce Website Brings British Favorites to The Virtual World. |
If "haggis" is a familiar word to you and if you ever have a craving for banger rolls, black pudding, cornish pasties or steak and kidney pie, than you're in for a treat. A Florida-based food importer offers a plethora of British foods from jams and candy bars to baked goods and teas, to websurfers around the world and Brits alike. Cameron's British Foods was established in Paisley, Scotland in 1932 by Frank Cameron Sr. Then known as "Cameron's Family Butcher". Frank and his two sons, Bill and Frank Jr., moved to the U.S.A. in 1951 and opened Cameron's Market in 1955. Specializing in cut meats and hand made sausages, the neighborhood butchers saw a need for a "taste of home" for the Scots and Irish who settled in the small town of Kearny, New Jersey. In 1972, the two brothers moved their families and business to S.W. Florida. Cameron's British Foods Inc. was opened in 1973 in N.Ft.Myers, Florida and their first U.S.D.A. operation was started. The family operation has expanded three times since 1973 and is now the largest manufacturer of fine British style meat products in the USA. They have recently added an extensive line of British imports to include cheese, fish, bacons and groceries. Since 1994 the family business has been owned and operated by Don Cameron, Bill's son. Don's son, Donald Jr., has recently joined the company. He is the fourth generation to carry on the family recipes and traditions of bringing a "Taste of Britain" to the USA. The company imports meats, fish and cheese such as Galtee Irish Back Bacon and Coombe Castle Stilton Wedges and sells gift boxes including the Haggis Gift Box for $33.95 and the Chocolate Gift Box, which includes 20 candy bars from Britain's famous candy companies Cadbury, Mars and Rowntree, for $25.95.
